With Your Teeth

Mix/Master: Cody Engstrom

With Your Teeth

In low light and far flung

Feral and forgetful

Roaming rather ravenous

Haven’t been gettin’ any rest

Shy and fleeting

Quick and quiet glancing

In the underbrush I see you

Pullin’ at the thorns, they hold fast

Come toward me and hold still

And I will take these thorns that cling

Yes I will take them with my teeth

I will help you if you let me

Drop of blood and low growl

Bristling as you wait

A lick to clean and for to thank

Shake off and slink away

But wait, come back, don’t run off so fast

I meant to ask,

Come back

Come back...

Come toward me I’ll hold still

And will you take these thorns that cling

Will you take them with your teeth

I will let you,

Let you help me

Take the thorns from me

Take them with your teeth

I will let you,

Let you help me

And over our shoulders we look back

A quick and quiet glance

We carry on our way

We carry on our way

And forgotten in fading light

The scattered thorns we left behind

Didn’t know you very long

but I knew you pretty well

I’ll remember evermore

Crossed a path and pulled the thorns

So take the thorns from me

Take them with your teeth

I could help you

And you could help me
