The Wind Calls You Home

Cello composed & performed by Shaun Diaz

Mixing & Mastering by David Small

The Wind Calls You Home

So alive,

So alone,

The wind calls me home

So alive,

So alone,

My voice calls me home

There was a stilling of the water

when autumn fledged the crows

And the ancient trees surrendered me
by the hillside’s remnant stone

And if I could ask

What way would you choose?

Where would you go?

And what would you do?

The thrill of it all

Won’t you look to the sky?

Be unblinded by starlight

Draw the mask from your eyes

So alive,

So alone,

The wind calls me home

So alive,

So alone,

your voice calls me home

A thunder swept the valley

It sauntered by the stream

And you wondered with the mountain
As the restive desert dreamed

And I noticed you longing

So I thought I would ask

What keeps you my darlin’

From the way your path?

The questions you hold

Give them life lest they leave!

What longs to unfurl

What has yet to be seen?

So alive,

So alone,

The wind calls me home

So wild,

So alone,

your voice calls me home

Crossing over like the shadow

Hanging from the dusky peaks

And the lonely wind came howling
And roused you from your sleep

The rush in the lungs

As the blooms rise anew

The water that gathers

Trembling with you

Your voice is a fury

Of love that cuts through

The fern in the gully,

The pain in your eyes

We try to learn, what if we take

too long to realize?

And if you were told

That this was your chance,

And it never repeats

It never comes back

What if you were told

That this was your chance?

And it comes to be what you believe
So what will you believe?

My love you’ve been told

That this is your chance

And it never repeats

It never comes back

Promise me you'll make the most

Cause this is your chance

So alive,

So alone,

The wind calls you home

Time again

Be it told

You’ll always be home
